I've tried everything to get my uploads working, but to no avail and I don't know who to turn to help me out.

DON'T post test account details.  I made the mistake of posting the URL and test account details and whoever logged in, prevented me from logging on.  I had to re-install Coppermine.  Unfortunately, there are some people in this world who only believe in doing more harm than good.

I am running 1.4.8
All the permissions are set accordingly
I've modified upload.php by changing the one line
I've followd the instructions on the FAQ

Can somebody please PM me offering their help to sort this out?

Thanks

you should post test user not admin one ! test account should be a simple "registered" user .

both of you : dk-forums.agff.net & ipodmusicman
please do as nibbler suggested and also check your "Method for resizing images"
it's on:
admin mode=>config=>Files and thumbnails advanced settings
first try GD2 and then GD1
