Problem With batch add files

Good Evening, 
i have a problem with the section: batch add files.  When i load the page, i have a similar error: 
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /.../...searchnew.php on line 275. 
i can't upload the files through the ftp... what i can do? I don't found the error :(

(if my english isn't correct, sorry... i'm italian ^^')

Please read the docs: it's mandatory to FTP upload the files to your server before using batch-add. Please review the upload troubleshooting section of the docs and do as suggested there.

I read the message and i've a question:
i don't know where is the file php.ini...
i must have the permission of my server?
