Need to delete files placed in by a hacker
« on: May 16, 2006, 08:38:36 pm »

My site ( traciethoms.net ) was temporarily shut down by our server because a hacker was running phony ebay addresses from them. I found where they came from which are these .rar files that were uploaded into the gallery. The only problem is I can't find them anywhere in my FTP. They are under the user folders "quad" and "ant2112" and even as admin I can't go in and delete them. When I try I get the following errors:

Quote
Directory 'albums/userpics/10459/' is not writable, files can't be deleted
Quote
Critical error
Directory 'albums/userpics/10462/' is not writable, files can't be deleted

The gallery is at the following location http://traciethoms.net/gallery and the files were the last three uploaded.

Please help?

First, tell your host to fix their server - rar files should not be parsed as php files.  Second, disallow rar files from being uploaded.  You can do this in your Coppermine config settings.  Third, you should attempt to delete these files from within Coppermine, not an FTP client.  If you have trouble finding them/deleting them, contact your host for assistance.
