Displaying full link route from a search result.
« on: May 02, 2006, 12:05:16 am »

When I do a search on my gallery using any keyword
I do get the right results but with the same link route each time.
Is there anyway I can get the full link from my search results.

I will appreciate any help ....

AG.

Yes I'd like to be able to send anybody a full link from any search result I do
http://www.ancsports.info/photogallery/search.php

Right now if I do a search result I will always get this result:
http://www.ancsports.info/photogallery/thumbnails.php

I know with previous version I was able able to get the full link.
something like this:
http://www.ancsports.info/photogallery/thumbnails.php?album=search&cat=0&pos=0

It seems like the rest of the link is hidden or something I know It might be a security feature...

Erm, we don't know your gallery well enough to know what to search for. Could you provide a sample search?

Well thats the problem I cant give you a link with the result of a search request. What I can give you is a keyword for you to try:
Try this one: "Cleveland" you'll see you will get a result like this:
http://www.ancsports.info/photogallery/thumbnails.php
Now if I want to share a search result from any keyword with someone else the link above it wont take me anywhere because the rest of the route is missing I guess for some kinda of protection which Coppermine has set up.

Thats What Im trying to accomplish to get a ful link from a search request.

Hi TranzNDance
I was looking at your gallery and yours does the same thing as mine...
I just did a search using the word "animal"
Now if I want to share the results with you I cant because I dont have a full link to copy and give to you...
The link I got is:
http://takethu.com/thumbnails.php
Thats all... Im pretty sure there must be a way to enable this because I remember copying an pasting links from my search results using previous versions....

I hope we can find the little feature... thanks for showing interest on solving this issue.

http://www.ancsports.info/photogallery/thumbnails.php?album=search&search=cleveland

If you set Config to show the keywords the way my gallery does, you can get the link from the keyword list.

Well thats a good way to work around the problem..
I wouldnt like to show all my keywords
What if I do a search with just a partial word lets say "cen"
that would cover many keywords at once "center, centerhung, centre, etc..."
I could try typing
http://www.ancsports.info/photogallery/thumbnails.php?album=search&search=cen

although it would be best to have this link automatically by doing any search at all.

change the method of the search form from "post" to "get" to accomplish what you're up to.
