http://www.kelly-element.net/gallery/searchnew.php then? Looks as expected to me. I recommend upgrading asap to the most recent stable release cpg1.4.4 though.

I just installed this software in one of the domains on my dedicated server.  When I received the error trying to save the configuration while logged in as admin I thought there must be an easy fix and proceeded here to find it.  What I have found is an ongoing issue with this and curt responses from the administrator that the question has been answered before so we should search the forum for the answer.

Well, I don't need to search the forum.  I have the solution.  After I finish this message, my combined first and last in this forum, I will be purging this junk from my system and installing a real photo gallery.

What on earth would possess GauGau to reply like a snit?

Here's a reality check, GauGau (what a name!): We don't need your crappy software.  There's better software out there that will not waste my time.

Hint to all users reading this: There's better photo gallery software out there.  Dump the junk!

I'm outta here!

I think this is the nature of forum , that you should search before ASK.(it's create to meet this aim!!)
yes , if you spend some mony and get a none opensource gallery, they will support you by providing "Help Desk" or other kind of straight support but most of the OpenSource software , use forum for support , some of them just have regular FAQ
I didn't seen any OpenSource Program that has straight support,at all

I'm also getting the forbidden error when I try to edit my config file.   I'm using version 1.4.3

"You don't have permission to access /photos/admin.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. "

Is this something I could fix, or I need to talk to my webhost and get them to do something?

I was able to edit the config, but it all of a sudden stopped letting me.

well since i can't modify a post...
and the only thing i can do is 'quick reply' i'll just make another post...

I just noticed in another topic, something about the .htaccess file.

There's not one in my photo directory, and the one I do have in the public_html directory is empty.

the cookies was the issue with not being able to log in.

still have the issue of can't edit the config file.

"You don't have permission to access /photos/admin.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. "

any suggestions of how to fix it?
i feel like i might as well delete the whole thing and not try to use it, if i'm not able to edit the config file.

rename admin.php to eg. mymain.php, try to access that page. Sometimes hosts restrict acces to pages like admin.* config.* etc
