Using Coppermine with Joomla
« on: April 07, 2006, 10:29:29 pm »

Hello.

My site at http://www.paulhurley.co.uk uses coppermine V1.3.5 and Joomla V1.0.7.  Currently Coppermine is displayed in a wrapper, which means the two aren't linked.

Is there nay way I could link the two, Ideally using one system for login etc...

Thanks

Paul

I don't think you can bridge Coppermine directly into Joomla anymore because of changes made in Joomla security, but you can bridge coppermine into a forum like SMF then bridge SMF into Joomla.

That way the forum, gallery, and joomla will share user data. I know at least for SMF, there's a login module that logs you into the forum and joomla at once. When coppermine is bridged, that has the effect of logging you into coppermine as well.

Some sort of hack/module/etc. probably exists for other forum types like Vbulletin and phpBB if that's what you'd rather use.
