How to allow users to mass edit files
« on: April 05, 2006, 09:11:20 am »

Hello,

Is there a way (setting/hack) to allow users who upload images (to their personal album, for example) to mass edit/manipulate their images?

For example, it would be quite a time saving and welcome convenience for users if they could ....

... delete many files at once (note this is not necessarily the same as deleting a whole album).

... apply keywords to many files at once.

... move many files from one album to another at once.

I'm sure there are other such mass edit options that would be desired.

Thanks in advance.

Stramm,

Thank you for the reply. I saw that feature.

I apologize. Maybe my question wasn't specific enough. Perhaps an example is a better illustration.

If a user has 100 pictures of trees in his 'tree' album. Let's say 50 are evergreens and 50 are deciduous. He wants to label each set of 50 accordingly.

Using the existing system he as to type (or copy and paste) the keyword 'evergreen' 50 times into the keyword field. Same for 'deciduous'.

I was looking for a way to type 'deciduous' once and then 'apply to X files'. Or similar scheme.

Thank you

no hack for this as far as I know. This'll require some good java script skills to acomplish but indeed a nice feature

For the mass-apply keywords part, here's a relevant feature request: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=28732.0
