Quality of the thumbs are very bad!

hello everyone,

I'v got the problem, that the thumbs are in a very bad quality.
does anybody know what the problem could be?

in coppermine config, check "Quality for JPEG files" (higher value means better quality, but bigger file size).
Generally speaking, the quality of thumbs greatly depends on the image library you use (GD1 being worst, GD2 better, ImageMagick best). Usually (at least when you're webhosted) you're not free to decide which one to use but have to take what your webhost offers. If you run your own server (or plan to change webhosting anyway), go for a better image lib.
Look at the examples in the faq to give you an idea how quality is influenced by image library.
