Unable to Bridge with SMF 1.06
« on: March 08, 2006, 05:08:54 am »

I have just installed the coppermine to be able to bridge it to SMF 1.06 forum.
coppermine page: http://mgentry.net/Photos/  Test01 is the member name and password is demo.
Main site is www.mgentry.net I don't have a folder to install the bridge into. I tried the relative path and it wouldn't work. So now I am confused. Do I absolutely need a folder to be able to bridge it to?

Thank you.

Hmm... What did you try for the relative path? Was it:
../

The relative path that I used was: /hsphere/local/home/urbanlov/www.mgentry.net/ .

That's the absolute path. Yes, use exactly what we told you.

The '..' means to go up from the current directory.

Enter your star sign if you like, but ../ is the correct value. What error message do you get ?

The error message I received was: Critical error
There was an error while processing a database query

I have smf 1.06 and trying to bridge the new coppermine with it. I installed the coppermine directly into the /mgentry.net folder. The smf is installed directly into it also.

Then the path is not the issue atall. You can't have SMF and Coppermine in the same folder. Enable debug mode before you enable the bridge and post the mysql error message you get.

1) avoid upper case in folder names like the plague
2) The asterisk is silly to even try, it's a placeholder from the Windows-world. Nibbler refered to your zodiac (capricorn, taurus etc.), not the symbol that looks like a star ;). That was obviously a joke.

Thank you GauGau,
I will go back and change the cap to small. I should of known that Nibble was joking. I wasn't sure as I am very new to this still. I have tried for 3 days now to get them merged. Will try again in the morning.
