Searching for universal Importer
« on: April 13, 2006, 05:12:35 pm »

Hi

I have written my own gallery (www.flo-style.org) and now I want to migrate to the Coppermine System.
Do you know if there still exists an Universal Importer for Coppermine. What I'm searching for is a Program with does all the nessesary File and DB Stuff.
I want tell the program the Path of the File, Name, description, User, Votes, Comments, and all the stuff with belong to the Picture.
Of course I can write the Program by my self, but I hope somebody has done something like this, so I dont' have to write it by my own and have to search the code how Albums are created, with Info comes into with Table and so on.

Does anyone has an Script like this, or perhaps a simmilar program from whom I can see how it works.

Thanks
mfG Flo

Such a "universal importer" hasn't been created (and I doubt that something like that will be ever written). Sounds like a Babelfish to me, or some invention of Calvin & Hobbes. However, you may want to take a look at the importers written for 4images and menalto gallery (mods/hacks board) to get an idea what you need to do.

Edit: posting this on the "Photography Tipps & Tricks" board is not a very clever idea, with the sub-board description of this particular board saying that you mustn't ask coppermine-related questions there.
