Counter Change
« on: February 28, 2006, 12:55:03 am »

How can i set my counter that shows on the main page.  I done a new install from 1.4.2. - 1.4.3 and did not upgrade just reinstalled and i had 43,000 views on the counter.  Also i would like to import my comments from the other gallery can this be done?  Please let me know!  Thanks...

I would have just upgraded the other gallery but it was to many errors with it.

I think best is to make a backup of your 1.4.2 install and db, then update the 1.4.2 install to the most recent 1.4.4.
1.4.4 will then have correct view counts, the pics, users etc

the whole point of updating instead of a fresh install is that all your database entries (pics, comments, hits etc.) remain intact, that's why we recommend to update/upgrade instead of doing fresh installs. If you do a fresh install (although we recommend otherwise), you'll have to figure out on your own how to get the hit counter display what you want it to display. Simple as that.
