fixed size thumbnails

Does anyone know how to make the thumbnails all a fixed size so they are all the same exact size? heres an example: http://www.ashleyweb.org/gallery/

Option 1: upload files only that all have the same hieght/width ratio
Option 2: apply a thumbnail cropping tool like the one included into Stramm's modpack
Option 3: create the thumbnails locally on your client and upload them by FTP
Option 4: come up with a custom cropping script
