If you have no path to ImageMagick, you will get all sorts of errors while uploading.  Switch to GD2 and see if your problem solves itself.

It's mandatory that you have ImageMagick or GD, see http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/faq.htm#MinimumRequirements

Sorry for jumping in here, just want to help out...
Has anyone come up with a fix for the following error?

Unfortunately not. Or at least the guy on this thread has but he doesn't say how he fixed it. I asked him and he said he got an updated file off the internet ???

I've tried GD2 and I end up with a blank page when uploading.
