Favourite images + Comments in user's profile
« on: February 17, 2006, 08:07:54 pm »

I would like for users to be able to add the images they liked to their favourites, which in return will be displayed in their profile (look at jpg for reference). Also I would like to display all the comments that user had made.

I would like users to be able to add the image to their favourites not from the thumbnails, but from the intermediate version (displayimage.php) see attached jpg for reference.

Can this be done with meta albums, tied to the user's profile? Or can this be done with users albums, without users having the option to upload in there... Adding to your favourites, will simplay create an instance of that image into the user's album? Im not quite sure how..

If it is not too difficult to do, can someone give me a hand with the code?

Thanks a lot!

Is this something complicated to do?

you need it, you code it. Complicated or not, it takes time coding it.

I wish I could. I wouldn't be bothering you here if I can do my own coding. I guess I`ll forget about this until someone else finds the idea useful. Thanks GauGau.

I am going to try again and ask the above question for the third time....

Can someone re-open and place it in feature requests?

If declined, give a reason why. thanks

Thank you.

The idea behind this is to allow a bit more of user interactivity. Its the "My favourites" system, but instead of the being saved as a cookie on the visitor's hard drive, I would like them to be saved in the database under their profile, so they can be visited by other members of the site...

Since last comments by that user already exists, its only a question of formating it.

Maybe its nonsense and I am dreaming but I think its a cool feature to have. I dont see the point of favourites stored as a cookie... if you change computers, or delete cookies, you loose them.

What do people on this board think? Let me know. Thanks.
