Coppermine BBCode - open urls in new window
« on: February 16, 2006, 03:39:42 am »

I apologise if this is a silly question, but I have had a good search around and not found an answer.

I am using BBCode url links in my album descriptions to external sites, however I would like these to open in a new window, rather than navigate visitors away from my site. On many sites that use BBCode this is automatic. Is this as something as simple as an alternative version of a tag that I have missed? Or is there a setting somewhere that should be changed?

Many thanks,
Tom

Thanks, a useful link, I can see the rationale.

I did make a slight mistake in the original post - I should have said category descriptions instead of album descriptions. These give access to BBCode, however I can't identify a way to add JavaScript to these. Is there a solution I've missed?

Copy/paste the js code given into your scripts.js. You'll need to clear cache or hit refresh so that your browser requests the new version of the file.
