Thumbnails disappear from filmstrip
« on: February 03, 2006, 08:20:19 pm »

Hello -

I'm having a strange issue with thumbnails disappearing from the filmstrip. In both of the two albums I have uploaded, it starts when you get to the 6th picure ( pos=5 ) at which point the first picture ( pos=0 ) disappears from the filmstrip. In the first album it stops there while in the second it happens at ( pos=6 ) as well, only the first two thumbnails disappear from the filmstrip. At ( pos=7 ) everything is back to normal. Extensive searching of the boards has yielded no clues.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

First album: http://yarrottbenz.com/galleries/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=0

Second album: http://yarrottbenz.com/galleries/displayimage.php?album=2&pos=0

thanks!

Fair enough. I have the footer set to [edit Gaugau]removed explanation as suggested below[/edit] for the time being in a custom theme I'm working on (site's not "live" yet) in order to lay things out properly and work on functionality, it goes back in at the end... I'm still confused why this would affect Classic and all other stock themes in which the footer and copyright are untouched.

?

no support for you unless you put the footer back now. We won't rely on promises that the footer's going to be put back later. I edited out the explanation you gave in your above posting how to edit the footer out.

Sinking like a rock in the karmic sea... My apologies for the faux pas. I didn't think I was saying anything that wasn't made obvious by the docs - sorry about that. I appreciate your collective work and the opportunity to redeem myself...

To clarify, the filmstrip seems to be "scrolling" a bit in the middle even when there are fewer thumbnails than the max. Does that make sense? At either end, all thumbs are displayed, in the middle, the first or first two are lopped off as if it's "scrolling" ahead... This happens in all themes. Fresh install so only one album at this point.

thanks (and sorry) again.

right beneath the photo. Is your monitor really small? It might have sunk beneath the navbar (Haven't decided on final placement yet...)

this may help someone else:

I changed line 1832 of functions.inc.php from:

$lower_limit=$new_pos-$ihf;

to
$lower_limit=0;

Not quite sure what the math is doing there ( finding a split point to double up the row? when to kick in the filmstrip advance? ) but that fixed the problem.
