Database Error message.
« on: January 31, 2006, 05:58:29 pm »

Hi all,

I tried to edit an image and got an error:
"There was an error while processing a database query"

So I deleted the pic, which went fine. I then went into "admin tools" and got the same error.

In debug mode, I got this report when trying to go into "admin tools":

Code: [Select]
While executing query "SELECT aid, category, IF(user_name IS NOT NULL, CONCAT('(', user_name, ') ',title), CONCAT(' - ', title)) AS title FROM cpg135_albums AS a LEFT JOIN cpg135_users AS u ON category = (10000 + user_id) ORDER BY category, title" on 0

mySQL error: Got error 28 from table handler

Suggestions are wellcome. I think the problem is related to an interrupted upload batch a week ago. I
was uploading 5 or so files, and lost the internet connection to the server just before filling in the details
of the last pic... My instinct tells me the incident is related to these errors. Unfortunately I didn't pay much attention
to it then.

Thanks in advance,
Fred

It's an issue with the database, not Coppermine related.

error 28 = No space left on device

I'd suggest you contact your host, perhaps your /tmp is full.

I'm a bit puzzled about how a SELECT-command requires space. I've got 32 Meg HD and 2 Meg MySQL left...

EDIT: and the /tmp is empty

MySQL needs to use some of your temporary storage space to process the query since it is quite complex. Try searching the web for the error message.

I think I figured it out, my host switched to phpMyAdmin 2.6.4-pl2 ... which has nothing to do with the
problem but has drawn my attention to the fact that they also made modifications in the MySQL install.
I'm currently looking if their MySQL 4.0.24_Debian-10 is the source of my mishaps. Hopefully that's the problem.

Thanks for the pointers.
