I would like to have the feature of the filmstrip with thumbnails in it, below the normal displayed image. It was put on the old site/forum, is it still available somewehere? And will it be available for all themes?

Also I'm looking for a possibility to add little movies (.avi and .mpg) to the gallery, since most cameras can record movies too.

as mentioned several times on the old board: there won't be support for movie files (at least in the near future), but your request is noted...

Oh, ok. I haven't read that on the old board. What's the reason that there won't be support for it?

Very simple - because the current main developers don't wish it :D

the reason is: neither gd nor Image Magick support movie files - simple as that.

An exception can easily be made for movies, a default pic can be a stand in as a thumbnail for the movie.  GD and ImageMagick don't need to do anything.  The option of supporting this far outweighs some of the complications it brings IMO.  Perhaps you can let the admin upload a custom thumbnail for the movie to use, or else it defaults to a predertermined picture.

The above being a proposal, do you see it as a difficult one to put in?

I was thinking in the same lines as you, Stridor.  IM or GD doesn't have to process the movies.. it's more of a linking thing.  Put more thoughts into this and give feedback to the devs.

1) Support Video is a good idea, like "Gallery"
2) Multi user group for single album, like "Gallery" support multi user.
3) Can make new folder in Albums and Auto CHMOD 777.
4) Let vistor can request the original photo's file (to printing hard copy )to the owner, like send invist mail to friend but change to request to owner.
5) Vistor & user log
6) Let vistor easier to find out the login or registration sign.

Sorry ! ask for too much
