Problems Syncing Groups? (with phpBB2.0.18)
« on: December 06, 2005, 04:02:38 pm »

After my phpBB was hacked I upgraded it 2.0.18, and thought I would take the opportunity to upgrade coppermine.

After some initial problems accessing admin functions after bridging, I replaced bridgemgr.php, phpbb2018.inc.php and udb_base.inc.php with the CVS versions, an described elsewhere by nibbler on this board.  This resulted in access to the admin functions when logged in using a phpBB admin account.

However the Groups Page, is still showing the original coppermine groups(ie Adiminstrators, Registered, Guests and Banned), and not my phpBB user groups.  And looking at the Users Page shows all users as 'Registered' even those who should be admin etc.

I guess its some problem with the databases not syncing properly? Any suggestions?

Enable 'Use post-based groups' if you want the groups to be imported, that's what it's for.

Use post-based groups?
Should Coppermine import the special groups that exist in the forum ? If you select no, then Coppermine will use the standard groups (Administrator, Registered and Anonymous) which makes administration easier and is recommended. You can change this setting later as well.

Since the update to 2.19 PhpBB the group-rights do not work anymore. :/
They are imported, but the have not the rights that i have given them in groupcontrol.

I have given the group "registred" to upload in public albums, no private albums.

And to the group "Gallery Members" the right to have own albums.

It shows all to be correct in the grouppanel, but the rights do not work. :(

It's the same problem i had as i updated coppermine. I am sure i have forgot something but i do not find out what...

[Edit: Fixed the problems with resetting the bridge manager, sorry]
