Insert Advertisements

There is lots of documentation on how to insert advertisements into phpBB forums.  Is there any documentation for coppermine?  Since I have been unable to find any, I'm assuming there is not a general guideline for utilizing banner ads.  Could advertisements be made more feasable via a mod or in the next version of coppermine?
