Sort order for files
« on: January 08, 2006, 03:07:35 pm »

In config panel, one can set the default sort order for files (thumbnail view) to:
- title
- name
- date
- position

descending or ascending

Question 1: does the date refer to the date the picture was uploaded or the exif date of the picture (when it was shot)?

Question 2: if it's the exif date, what happens if there is no exif data in the picture, does it revert to the upload date?

Question 3: what does the position refer to? (maybe the upload date?)

Thanks

1) Upload date
2) n/a
3) Applies when custom sort order has been applied. Refer to the docs

Thanks for the info.

There used to be a lot of requests to be able to sort pictures by exif date. Some mods were found (I remember: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=9360.0). I suppose it was decided not to include them in CPG 1.4.x

What is the most recommended way to implement sort by exif date with CPG 1.4.3?

Thanks
