more than 4 custom fields in 1.4.2
« on: January 06, 2006, 06:46:46 pm »

Hi, I am looking to upgrade from 1.3.5 to 1.4.2.

I have applied Casper's helpful mod which added as many custom fields as needed (I needed 16 to add the dublin core metadata fields).
See topic http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=7803.0 which lists this procedure.

It only took about 2 hours to apply all those changes and I am willing to do it again (if necessary) for this new release, but am wondering if this procedure has changed because of the new release.  Is it correct to assume that the core php files have been modified so there is no way of preserving those existing changes?

Will this feature (variable number of custom fields) be built into the core in the future?

I would appreciate it if someone could comment on this, as it will affect the upgrade.

Thanks

I'll look into this over the weekend.  it should be doable with 1.4.x just a case of maiking any equivelent code changes.

Yes, it is 1.4.x since I think my original post was already one minor version behind.  Cheers.  dukuduku
