Search range in custom field?
« on: December 21, 2005, 07:36:26 am »

The new search features in 1.4+ are great but I was wondering if it's possible to search a range of values in a custom field?  Something similar to the age 'Newer than' and 'Older than' search?

I have separate custom fields for Age, Height and Weight where all the values are numbers and I would like to be able to search, for example, for weights heavier than 70 and lighter than 90.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Is this something I could commision someone to do?  Would it be worth posting in the Freelancer forum?

Thanks GauGau,

I'm not sure how much work is involved or what an appropriate budget is but I can offer $60.

Is anyone interested in doing this? Someone coded a solution for me a few months ago and showed me a working demo.  I haven't been able to contact them to pay for and receive the mod so I'm now looking for someone else to do it.

What a pain.  At least you didn't pay first.

Are you using an unmodded Coppermine and the "Custom Fields for Image Description" on the admin panel?

Yes, unmodded Coppermine using the inbuilt custom fields. The person doing the mod for me added an on/off, min value and max value for each custom field on the config page.

It works brilliantly in his demo but I just haven't been able to get in contact to buy it.
