smf bridging help!!!
« on: December 09, 2005, 10:05:22 pm »

hi i am trying to bridge my cpg to my smf forum its currently all at the test stage as i dont really want to affect my normal forum tho im having a problem bridging at the mo...

my cpg is http://www.bikers-own.com/Photogallery/index.php

the version is cpg 1.4.2

with the username as test and the psword as test

ive followed the instructions yet it still wont work!

my site url is - http://www.bikers-own.com/test

i put as my Relative path to your BBS -  http://www.bikers-own.com/test/settings.php

yet it is saying it does not exsist (* http://www.bikers-own.com/test/Settings.php doesn't exist. Correct the value you entered for Relative path to your BBS's config file) tho it clearly does on my files manager in my cpanel??

am i doing somethig wrong??

if you could please tell me what too enter in the fields it would be great :)

thanks matt

The relative path would be ../test

If you are running a website you really should know the difference between a relative path and an url.

cheers for that...

my site/forum has only been running for a couple of weeks!!! we cant all be great and we have to start somewhere as a "help and support" forum patronising new users is not very helpfull!!! ::)

Obviously I shouldn't be operating a website.  But I am trying to learn.  Maybe there should be a test first.  Anyway, I have the same problem.
my url for my board is;  http://kyyotesden.com/Forum/

my url for my Coppermine is;  http://kyyotesden.com/gallery/

When i put this;
Bridge Wizard: path(s) used by your BBS app
Forum URL:http://kyyotesden.com/Forum/    Full URL of your BBS app (including the leading http:// bit, e.g. http://www.yourdomain.tld/forum
Relative path to your BBS's config file:.../gallery/    Relative path to your BBS, seen from your Coppermine folder (e.g. "../forum/" if your BBS is at http://www.yourdomain.tld/forum/ and Coppermine at http://www.yourdomain.tld/gallery/

i get;  ../gallerySettings.php doesn't exist. Correct the value you entered for Relative path to your BBS's config file

I'm sure this is an example of why I'm too ignorant to be running my website, but this is how I learn.  Please tell me how to correct this.

Coppermine is not your BBS, SMF is. Therefore the path to SMF is not ../gallery/, it is ../Forum/
