Special characters, a cpg or a mysql problem?
« on: December 04, 2005, 01:26:43 pm »

Hello

Just a small question, at this time I use Unicode for my coppermine installation. Words like 'Bolsøy' are viewed in my browser as 'Bols?>'? I'm usining MySQL 4.0.17 with php4 on Apache 2. Do I need to change my character settings on coppermine or is this problem database related?

Kind regards,
Frederic

I'm not familiar with the various language issues but some have been addressed in 1.4.3. Please try updating.

I've noticed the problem is Browser Related. Only Internet Explorer has problems with special characters like é è à ç ö, etc... Opera or Firefox show them nicely.

Then I think it depends on the language packs installed for the browser? Again, I'm not familiar with language issues but some "foreign" sites show up okay on one computer's Firefox, and another computer shows question marks.
