Coppermine for MamboServer CMS???
« on: October 03, 2003, 09:34:41 am »

Anyone planning on porting CPG for mambo server?  That'd be super sweet if we could get it fully ported so it can share userbases with mambo, as well as integrate the administration into the Mambo backend.

would love to hear if anybody out there is working on this, or planning to in the future.

haven't looked at it (Mambo server), but if you want integration with another user table, you should check the bridge file stuff of version 1.1.1!
Wyh don't you give it a try (creating/modifying only one bridge file for mambo might do the trick).

Coppermine for MamboServer CMS???

One other way to look at it is that maybe Mambo could use the Invision Board user base (which Coppermine already supports)!

Very few high-quality third part components have been ported to Mambo by now, and I wouldn't hold my breath. So maybe replacing Mambo's user auth system with IBF's could be the answer -- at least for people who run Coppermine and IBF.

There has been an ongoing discussion about these issues over at http://www.mamboserver.com/fudforum . One guy over there is now thinking aloud about a user authentication system that allows controlling of any number of external applications.

I agree that the gallery, wich was used by me from the start, deserves a place in Mambo.
Dear developers, please have a look at this so Coppermine can be used as an module in Mambo.
Mambo will defeat all the other CMS's very soon.

Btw, its good that Coppermine is back online.

I tried/tested about 20 CMS's the last wto years.

About Mambo:

Easy to install
Easy to administer
Excellent architecture for use by businesses/organizations and informational websites
Publishing workflow with approval by admins

Very well done administrative interface
Relatively easy to customize, including adding custom modules/components
Primary developers are accessible/responsive
I'm giving Mambo a rating of 8 out of 10. This is the highest rating I would give to any open source CMS today. It's not as technicallly sophisticated as some CMSs (like ezPublish), but it's ease of use makes up the difference. I recommend it for webmasters with a working knowledge of both html and PHP.

These days the development of mambo is speeding up and gives us all the possibilities to make a site the way we wish.

Coppermine for MamboServer CMS???

I agree, coppermine is a great service, and Mambo is much better than any other front end GUI I have ever used, and I've used as lot.

Postnuke was the latests, and that turned into a nightmare.  Although Postuke supports Coppermine I'd love to see the same happen with Mambo...

I have over 140 users in Coppermine, and well over 4,000 pictures...I would love to incorporate Coppermine into Mambo.

If anyone can it would be so much easier...at least to the point of where one login, for both programs.

Maybe this would help: A highly modified PHP-Nuke 65

At the moment Scott and I (the 2 coppermine 4 nuke porters) are busy with making the old Nuke 6.5 fast, stable and more secure then any Nuke version.

I already got page generations at 0.07 seconds
We already fixed thousands of bugs and security vulnerabilities.

And we will not end untill it completely works.

http://coppermine.findhere.org <- momentarely the info pages there
http://www.tunesplayer.com <- my site that's using it

Soon on SourceForge a full demo page is available and the CVS is almost stable
