Italian language is full of errors

Hi,
I've installed  gallery 1.4.2 but I noticed that italian language is full of errors. For example a lot of text is untraslated, also letters like à è ì ò ù are displayed as Ã.

The encoding issue is addressed here. Language files are contributed by our users, if you can contribute a more complete version then we would be grateful to include it with the next version.
