How can I prevent unregistered users to view the full size?

Already spend couple of hours searching for the solution, found couple of posts - tried to implement them - no luck!

How can I prevent unregistered users to view the full size pictures?

there should be an item in teh gallery config to switch this on (i have it running on my version) (1.2 only)
