Theme header - server side include...
« on: November 06, 2005, 01:25:46 am »

Hiya..

I am trying to build a website which uses server side includes.  Basicaly having:

Header.html - content.html - footer.html

all these 3 times are pulled into one when say index.shtml is requested..

job done fine...
what i want to do is pull the header.html file into the CMG template when ever it loads so i can still have the main website links.

I have had a quick search through the site and tried a few things ( such as http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/faq.php?q=customHeader#customHeader ) but i cant see anything that would work for myself.

My server will not do server side includes unless the file name extension is .shtml which is annoying.

Thanks

Custom header should work out just fine. Use a php include instead of ssi.

thanks for your quick reply..

I had another go at sorting it out and managed to get it sorted..

I had an issue where it was coming up with a require ' or something..

Anyway - after looking at this post:

I split one of the lines of code and it worked, straight away...

now - onwards with the next task!!
