Assign public categories to user's albums
« on: October 04, 2005, 06:49:06 pm »

This is for user's albums, they then can assign one album to one category.
These are the categories created by admin of course.
If user Eric creates a new album "FC Ajax" and asign it to general category "Sports" and make it public then his album will appears under main category Sports:
- User Galleries
- Games
- Sports
--- FC Ajax
- Films
- Cars

Other question is when will you publish 1.4.1 production release (aprox) ?
Thx!

the ability for users to create albums in public categories has been requested before and is being considered for future coppermine versions.

We have a "one question per thread" policy you agreed to respect when signing up.

The dev version cpg1.4.x will be released as stable when it's done, we can't say when exactly, as this depends on how fast we'll be able to fix the existing bugs. A release date has being asked frequently, why don't you search before posting?

Hi Gaugau,

On this topic, I haven't seen this feature to be implemented in 1.4.1 neither planned for 1.5.
Is it scheduled then for after 1.5 ?

like I said: it is being considered. We haven't even started creating cpg1.5.x, who knows what features will go into it? Currently, we're planning to get cpg1.4.x released as stable. Once this is done, we'll make up our minds on the features that are suppossed to go into the next version. We can't tell if this feature will be done, but personally I don't consider it as being that usefull, I guess that's why none of the devs has moved the thread to the "scheduled for cpg1.5.x" sub-board.

Hi again,

Gaugau, thanks for the answer.
Is there anyone who has developped a mod or a procedure with phpMyadmin to move user albums to public categories ?
I really need it for my gallery...

Thanks for your help !  ;)

@utagawa: this is the feature requests board anyway, not the support board. Don't ask for mods or actual help here.
