my username says it all...
« on: October 01, 2005, 08:47:40 pm »

don't think I will get any help, but I just can't find the answer to this stupid problem by myself and by browsing through the documentation etc. The thing is, that I want to change the banner pic in a specific theme (pre existing in Coppermine) just by editing the pic and replacing it with the help of my damn ftp prog. And that's what I can't do. I can't create any new folders, can't rename anything, can't do a shit!! Do I need a 'better' ftp program? Hell, I have even tried to change the folder properties (to value 777) but even that is impossible!
Maybe I am just to dumb to see the problem but that's why I registered as

-looser (wrong spelling, yeah I know...)

any help?

Does your webhost provide onsite tools for your domain?  Like a Host Manger, Filemanager, etc?

If so, user their tools to see if you can create a new folder or HTTP upload a single file onto your server.

If that works, try another ftp program.
If their tools don't work, contact your webhost and ask them to look into it.

ps.. nice drawings. sugoi!

I seem to realize, what might be the problem...
I didn't uplaod the coppermine myself. It was someone from my webhost. So I don't have full access when im in my ftp...? Ftp is Wise FTP.
Madeinhawaii: nope, no filemanager or something...

Contact your webhost and see what they can do to provide you with more permissions.

I hope you're not paying dearly for their services.

They did it all for free and I was greatly surprised by that myself! So far I didn't get any bills... :-D I am just contacting them!
Thx, all!

Heh,  I'd make sure to make backups regularly of your entire site and database.  I mean if they aren't billing their customers, I'd have to wonder how long they will remain in the hosting business.
