Linking the latest additions to my Home Page

I want to link some of the latest additons to my Website Home page as thumbnails.  I took a look at the MySQL tables and I am unsure of which field(s) I need to extract.  I assume I need to be looking for a date field and a thumbnail file path field.

Any help is much appreciated.
