PDF thumbnail creation?

I have used menalto gallery for a few years now and appreciate it very much.  I have heard a lot of people speak higly of coopermine so I decided to see for myself. 

My question here is does coopermine support PDF file thumbnail generation?  What I mean is can it create and automate thumbnail of the actual PDF document (not a  generic 'file' icon).  If not, is there a mod or some other way to do this with coopermine?
