Multiple Issues with waterdrop theme and spacing
« on: July 16, 2005, 02:42:13 pm »

Howdy!

This site is still very much in its infancy stage...... Searched the boards but couldnt find a definite answer.

My gallery is using the waterdrop theme

And my topmenu is the source of much aggravation.

1.  My navigational structure on the left has been truncated down to a very small size. That is also using CSS, but with a font size system of em instead of pixel which the waterdrop is using. Could that be the reason why it has been reduced.

Waterdrop - font size 12 pixels
Navigationa font size - 0.9 ems

2.  How do you center the topmenu and have the wording appear on one line instead of two?
Eg. ALBUM LIST
instead of

ALBUM
LIST

3. There is a big white space between the topmenu and where the gallery begins.
How do I reduce that 'white space"
I know once I log on that 'white space' is the bar for the admin or user menus, but it should still be reduced.

Especially for users who choose not to register

Thanks for your comments

edit the css class "topmenu". When looking at your template file, I could see that you have set the table width for the actual coppermine content to be only 200 pixels wide:
Code: [Select]
<table width="200" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">which is not good, as the content is wider. Looking at your site's output, you have the 200 pixel-wide table command repeated in your theme.php as well, which is the cause for your navigation to be broken into two lines instead of using the full width of your content area. You're using a design that will challenge every browser, with a lot of nested tables and div containers...
For details, post your theme.php (attach it to your posting, using "Additional options" when composing the message; rename from theme.php to theme.php.txt before you attach it).

I changed the default table width in template.html to 470

<table width="470" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

Config settings:
Width of the main table: 415

Image view & Comment settings
width of table for file display: 420

There is still a huge white space between the header text and where the pictures begin to display

GauGau you said to edit the css class "topmenu"?
I am using the default css. minus the colorings

Thanks for any help
