cpg1.4.1 beta testing/bugs board - 'logs' folder
« on: July 13, 2005, 11:36:03 am »

I can´t copy the 'logs' folder (file: logs\log_header.inc.php) to my server, because my hoster make a own 'logs' folder for his logging files and he colsed it. My provider: www.allinkl.de

sorry for my english ;)

Although I think it's silly to put the webhost account logs folder in a web docs folder for access via browser when it shouldn't/couldn't be accessible via browser anyway, I can see this being a problem at other webhosts. We would need to move or rename the folder.

could be renamed easily, but I agree that this sort of server setup is silly; imo we should leave the naming scheme as-is, so users who can't have the logs folder due to silly server setup will put pressure on their webhosts to have this policy changed.
