Longer Description for the pictures
« on: May 25, 2005, 09:53:37 pm »

Greetings everyone!

I have Coppermine 1.3.x and I was hopping for someone to help me with this feature. Most of you may have seen http://www.fotolog.net, is a place were you can upload your picture and add a long descriptoin for it. So I was wondering if theres a way to allow adding longer descriptions to the pictures, not only 256 characters but to make it unlimited or at least 2000 character.

So we can add stories or poems to the pictures.

I think that would make more insteresting some galleries  ;D

Hope to hear from someone soon! see ya then!

There is an option in the configuaration where you can set the limit of the description field. Its not going to be possible to make it unlimted since that would cause problems with saving to the database.

Due to the description showing up in some places where it would be inappropriate to have long text, this feature request has been turned down.

Using something like minicms would be more appropriate for your needs.
