disabled hotlinking doesn't stop viewing the picture ?
« on: June 19, 2005, 10:22:35 pm »

Hi,

i'm relative new to coppermine, but its great!
One problem i have:
I've disabled hotlinking with .htaccess. Hotlinking from other servers don't work, thats ok. But when a user know the link of an image (like http://XXX/photo/albums/userpics/IMG_360.jpg) then the picture is viewable :(

Have I done something wrong ?

No, hotlinking just prevents outside leeching, not someone who types in the url to your image.

Currently, Coppermine can't prevent someone from viewing the image directly.  If you want to stop people from viewing your images, I recommend keeping them off the internet.

It is possible to set the .htaccess file to avoid direct access to image files. Please search the board.
