A few months ago I recall a small discussion regarding a camera phone photo to Coppermine hack. Has there been any progress making this into an actual module (add-on) or perhaps a feature in the next release?

Nope, that is MMS based. My Treo will only email the saved photos and has no option to define MMS gateways.

A simple search for "mms" on the mods posted returned this:

• MMS Upload - no mail server needeed - php only
  
• MMS Picture to phone via HTML link
  
• Camera Phone upload capability
  
• Cell Phone Photo Upload, Code contribution (alpha)

Choose one, in the future please use the search before posting.

There will be no "official" incorporation into the next release, nor do I think that mms integration ever will go into the core code, as mms features usually require settings that are specific to your country or a network, those will have to come as plugins in the future.
