How about an easy way to link to the photo of the day - to be on the site's homepage, for example.  The photo could either be chosen by admins, or perhaps chosen by criteria such as most viewed or highest rated.

There already is a "Photo of the day" mod, not sure though if this should go into the core code (may be a "bloat feature"). I'll leave the decision if this is meant to go into the core code to the dev team: any dev who wants to see it in the code is free to do as suggested and add the feature...
