Another idea .. Maybe it's groovy; maybe it's not 

Under each picture visitors can click the link " contact the author " to send a mail throught a classic form like :

On the sended email the IP adress of the sender is visible.



Bonus : we can add a small fake email link powered by the trippy code known under POISON : http://www.monkeys.com/wpoison/

The dev team is reluctant to implement anything that will increase the number of emails being sent through coppermine, so my suggestion is not to add this into the core code. If you need the feature I suggest you post the code as a mod. You might want to look into the mod Private messages system as well.
