Coppermine gallery as a standalone CD mailer? Would it work?
« on: April 11, 2005, 12:53:34 pm »

I'm trying to design some kind of CD based gallery to send in the post. If you included all the database files, would coppermine work from a CD, or are there tooo many server side files required?

not sure what you mean by
If you included all the database files

Coppermine is a database driven, server-sided app: just copying everything from your webserver over to your hard drive and burn to CD definitely won't work. What will work is making an offline copy of the html output of your whole site (using a tool like httrack) and burn it's contents to a CD. You probably will have to disable some meta albums to make the offline copy more efficient and faster.

You could try searching on running apache/php/mysql on CD/portable drive. If you can do that, you should be able to run coppermine.
