[SOLVED] Installation of RC2 failed

I blew out coppermine, and all of the tables, then tried to do a reinstall.

This is what I get when I perform the reinstall...

Warning: set_cpg_config(include/sql_parse.php) [function.set-cpg-config]: failed to create stream: Permission denied in /var/www/html/dvbhq/html/modules/coppermine/install.php on line 141

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: remove_remarks() in /var/www/html/dvbhq/html/modules/coppermine/install.php on line 177

Can anyone advise me what I need to do?

CHMOD the "include" directory to 777 instead of 766

It works!

Now, last problem.  User can not create their own albums.  Is there a fix for this?  Or am I just doing it wrong?

It's set to yes.  So how does a user create an albumor upload pics to their album?  I keep getting "you do not have rights...."

A user must be member of a group that may add their own albums or uploads.

Check the groups and users pages

All users are in the Registered Group, and have full rights.

Can you test when you have a chance?

I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks for the test.  I'm glad it works.

I am probably a little thickheaded when it comes to coppermine, but I just don't see anywhere in the documentation how a new user can go to the gallery, create an album, then post a picture.  I think I have clicked every option, and still do not get it.

Is there a section of the forum or documentation that I am overlooking?  Basically, where is the coppermine for dummies section?

We are working on that and we implement a online help doc into coppermine.

One thing: it's best to try out all possabilities yourself and go to pages as Anonymous, Member, Admin or Member+Admin

If you have 2/3 browsers it's easy switching to the differences

Sorry,

DJMaze, would you be so kind to tell me how to actually posted the album and pic?  Visitors, including myself, that click the gallery link receive a popup box that tells us to save or open the module.php file.

If you could just post the few steps you took, it can save me time trying to figure it out.

Thanks.

After reading all of the documents on this site, and still not finding answers, I stopped looking around.  I say it's time to update the documents so that you can avoid stupid questions.

Well, this is an open source community, where people are doing this voluntarily. So, instead of asking for a documentation, why don't you write one?

If you were to read it you would find you have a misconfigured server one with a documented bug that is causing your problem.

stopped looking around? If you want free software you have to look around not every solution will work for every user, and you MUST look around as to not sound like you're asking "stupid" questions ones that have already been answered, as they say "if all else fails, read the directions" all the directions may not be as organized as you like but if you would like to get involved to make this project better....
