I have a category off the root (top level) that contains only other categories.  (Archives (category) -> 1999 (category) -> Albums)  The Archives category can't have any image associated with it because there are no images in that category (I assume).  How can I put a thumbnail image on the top level category when there are no albums in that category, but there are albums in the subcategories?

Currently: not at all, sorry. You could however use bbcode (similar to this board) to add an image "manually" in the cat description, using [ i m g ].

Oh, yeah, that's a good idea.  It's a static image anyhow to represent the top level category - and just to be consistent with the other categories on the top level which do have photos.  I'll give it a try.  Thanks.

It doesn't seem that BBcode in the category description is being processed/parsed.  Is there a setting for this?
