Making categories private
« on: January 26, 2005, 08:15:31 pm »

Not sure of this question has been asked earlier...

I would like to make some categories private (not just the album).

Basically I don't want some categories to be visible for 'guest' users. Even when the 'Last updated' and 'Random'  pictures are shown the albums in the private categories should not be visible.

How can I do it? Is some  update/ modif already available?

(I am new to PHP & MySQL)

you can't set permissions by category, only by album. If a user doesn't have access to a particular album, pics from that album won't show up for him in lastuploaded or random - coppermine respects the permissions in every manner.

Understood the 'private' album concept better. Thanks.

Is there a modification / code update that I can do make categories private as well??
Has anyone done so?
