Forbidding access?

I recently updated the script for a friend's site, he'd like to reupload every picture and album because of some misuses he made in the past. My question is if it's possible to close the gallery to every user except administrators, so they can't see all the work nor check every new thing uploaded, something like phpBB forums have.
