Question about coppermine services

Hello focks...
I have a friend who uses coppermine to display photos that she sells via contact info such as email and phone...She is looking to venture into a full blown e-commerce site that would take advantage of paypal etc...Does coppermine work with this type of endeavor or is her only option is to develop the a site from the ground up with a hosting company and adequate space for the backend and pics?
Any help would be appreciated...
