Re: Where to put some extra content
« on: January 14, 2005, 03:22:47 am »

This question probably been asked before but I have to ask it because I can't find it when searching.
I use the reynolds theme (btw a pretty darn good theme) and I want to add text somewhere to welcome the people
to my site (http://www.dpfoto.com/galleri). Is it the breadcrumb? Where do I put the text?

Regards
Dennis "the n00b" Persson =)

Thank you!
BTW, I have a couple of categories with albums in them. Can I set how many albums in the category that will be shown on the firstpage/mainpage?

It's in the config, you can confgure whether or not to display album thumbs in the cat list.

http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/manual.php#config_album_list

But read the whole thing on the config page there are some more options there that you might like.

Thansks for your help donnoman.
But is there a way to only display a couple of the album thumbs in a category on the mainpage? Or will the all be displayed, even if I have 10-20 albums under the category?

without modifying the core code: not possible. Just think of a good cat/album structure!

Joachim's got the right of it as usual.

I've just been through a lot of that code, and I don't see how you could easily pick and choose which albums you wanted to show on the cat list or not.

Perhaps post your situation maybe we could recommend a way of nesting the cats/albs that would solve your problem.

Remember that you CAN turn off first level album thumbnails in the config.
