What security steps do I need to take?

What steps do I need to take to make sure my photo gallery is secure from hackers? Are there any files that should be deleted or chmod permission concerns?

There's nothing you need to do.  Coppermine runs great and has no known security holes.  Make sure your webhost is running at least PHP 4.3.10 - anything earlier has security weaknesses.
