You need to get the right info from your host - nothing we can do to help you there.

Did you enter a password? The error message said a password wasn't used.

The database password could be different from registration or ftp password. You need to ask your webhost what it is.

In which case - you get what you pay for. There is a thread on the boards about free webhosts that work with coppermine, try one of those.

Why dont u try it on another free web host.

http://www.dotgeek.org is one of the free web host on which cpg runs absolutely fine. Also there wont be any advertisements on your website if u host it on dotgeek.org  You will find that dotgeek is far better than lycos.

I have one working installation of cpg at http://abbasali.dotgeek.org/cpg/

for DB password on lycos merely enter "one space" for the password where scripts designed by simpletons "require" a password.  Most free hosts have no password set for the DB username.  You'd think scripts would allow for this... with at least a check box acknoledging a null password.

oh well

good luck and God bless

Coppermine works fine if you have no password, just leave the box empty.
