Allow only users to see an album

This must be trivial but I didn't find alone. Id' like only users of a group to be able to browse an album. I guess it's in the properties of this album. However, I don't get the "Album can be viewed by" as in http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/manual.php#modif_alb_pics

Where am I wrong?

You need to enable 'users can have private albums' in config.

Thanks a lot! Maybe you should consider to change the description of this. "Authorize private albums" would be more convenient IMHO  ;)

description already has been changed for the next version, thanks for the suggestion.
